Individuals employed in nursing homes, dental facilities, diagnostic centers, laboratories, and hospitals are very much at risk for different kinds of illnesses and infections. And because of the demands in their line of work, these individuals are most of the time in direct contact with sick and infected clients. Though sanitizers and alcohols may come in plenty in these facilities, hand washing still remains to be the top and most efficient ways of maintaining good sanitation.
Frequent hand washing among health care workers should be imposed to keep them fit and not give way to opportunistic illnesses. But because of their busy work schedules, they sometimes barely find the time to stop by in their workstations for hand washing. And when they do, they cannot perform the procedure properly since they are in a hurry. Hospitals and other medical facilities should invest wisely on portable sinks. Several units of these useful equipments can be placed on several locations where the main work stations are out of reach. This way, medical and other health workers will be reminded to properly wash their hands before proceeding to the next client to prevent cross-infection and contamination.
Many therapists, heath aides, nurses, technicians, and physicians succumb to illnesses due to direct contact with patients and also with contaminated rails, elevator buttons, doorknobs, charts, linens, and many more. Diseases such as cough, fever, and flu are among the common manifestations of possible infection among workers in various health facilities. Portable sinks can help reduce these risks by providing quick and easy access to hand washing stations within medical facilities.
